Samoa mo Samoa 🇼🇸
What an honour it was to connect with some of the OG uso’s of @toa_samoa_official 🇼🇸 and share some of our old war stories in the blue jersey.
As the team prepare for what many are touting as the game of the Rugby League World Cup against @tongarugbyleagueofficial 🇹🇴 it was amazing to see the talent from this era in the one room.
Whenever there is a contest between Samoa and Tonga - irrespective of what sport - it is more than just a game.
Our rivalry is forged through a long history of culture, tradition, trade, and warfare - a history spanning several millennia. Stories that have been passed down from generation to generation about our peoples keep the respectful rivalry alive.
This is why this game means more to Samoans and Tongans - and this is why the people will come out in droves to support. 🇼🇸🇹🇴 #685🇼🇸 #toasamoa #samoa
