A man named Kentrell has sparked an online discussion after sharing the detailed household chore list his father gave him when he was just 8 years old.

The routine included making his bed, checking homework, completing chores, keeping the kitchen clean, and being in bed before 10 p.m. Weekends came with additional responsibilities, including laundry, cleaning bathrooms, and other household tasks.

Kentrell described his father as someone who was fun but maintained clear rules and structure at home. His post has drawn attention online, with people sharing different opinions about childhood responsibilities, discipline, and parenting.

Lucien Smith spent his August making new ‘Rain Paintings’ at an abandoned Montauk baseball field in a return to his early-career stardom and what would be his final exhibition.

The four large-scale pieces are now on view in ‘Delay of Game,’ an ongoing show at @tripoligallery, whose title draws from a baseball call: when rain stops the play, the grounds crew roll out a tarp to protect the field. For Smith, the tarp catches the paint.

The speckled canvases emit a meditative quality, reflecting Smith’s own inner state when he made them. “A process like this is a gift,” he said. “When I was younger I thought I needed to keep looking, that landing on one thing so early meant I’d be missing something. I let the market and outside criticism dictate my practice, and that was a mistake. Life has taken me full circle. I think it is time to return to the process I was given.”

‘Delay of Game’ is now on view until November 23. Read more via the link in bio.

New Saudi word unlocked: munbatih (منبطح).

First, you have to say it right. (We did not. “Moon butter” was our best attempt.)

Literal meaning: lying flat on the ground.

Actual meaning: the guy who rolls out the red carpet for a Western foreigner, then side-eyes anyone else in a thobe.

• The ladies’ version: munbatiha
• Senan says it’s a small minority, mostly the older generation
• Riyadh today? Way too multicultural to care
Save it for your Saudi slang list. Use responsibly.
Then find out why people have called HIM munbatih. Full conversation on Spotify, Apple Podcasts or YouTube.
