Each time for the past 33 years, the UNGA has voted in a wide majority to end the U.S. blockade on Cuba. 130 countries voted to end the genocidal blockade that is starving the Cuban people. Despite this, each U.S. administration, from Kennedy to Trump, has maintained this criminal blockade, asserting that only Congress has the authority to end it. The Trump admin has tightened the noose around Cuba using the total blockade of fuel imports to the island nation.

The blockade has been strangling Cuba’s economy for more than 64 years, but the Cuban people have resisted it every step of the way and continue to do so. And we inside the United States must take on the responsibility of fighting the blockade from right here in the belly of the beast. We will not let our neighbors in Cuba suffer! End the blockade now, Rubio!
