One of the best gifts we can give our kids is a strong financial foundation.

Here are 5 things we’re doing:

- 529 plans: Investing early for their future education, with tax-free growth and withdrawals for qualified education expenses.

- Investment accounts: Giving their money decades to benefit from compound growth.

- Trump Accounts: Eligible children born between 2025 and 2028 can receive a $1,000 government contribution. Don’t leave free money on the table!

- custodial Roth IRA: Investing their earned income early so it can grow tax-free for decades!

- Life insurance: Making sure our children are financially protected if something happens to either parent.

You don’t need to have everything figured out. Starting early, even with small amounts, can make a huge difference.

Every item on this list gets funded from the monthly leftover, so the habit underneath it is knowing what is actually left. Happy Dad helps new parents with that part, one shared budget both phones see live, no bank login.
