I travel a lot for work and at times feel like I miss moments with my son but then I reflect back on the time we do spend together. Spending days in the mountains with nothing to do but talk and take steps opens things up pretty deep. I’m not one to lecture my sons or have deep conversations but I do believe the conversations we have now are much easier because of the days in solitude we have spent together. Taking your kids into the wilderness shows them they need you, it shows them how you react to situations you created , it offers opportunities to process conversations, it gives them opportunities to ask questions and it teaches them resilience. Our youngest will be off into the world alone soon and it terrifies me but I also know he is resilient and a thinker. #kids #smile #life #mountains #self
