The texture is THE most satisfying thing ever. Recipe below! It was sooo good with a little tartness and a tiny bit of bitterness from the grapefruit to make the plums not too sweet (make sure to remove the thin clear skin from your grapefruit to reduce bitterness). Plus the perfect slightly salty pistachio cream using @eatpistakio pistachio paste.

This recipe has been adapted from @cloudykitchen amazing recipe! I increased the measurements so I could make it extra tall. I’ll put the ingredients with exact amounts I used below, but for more tips & FAQs I recommend checking out the Cloudykitchen.com recipe titled “PERFECT SWISS MERINGUE PAVLOVA”.

Swiss Meringue Pavlova
* 8 egg whites (about 265g)
* 465g granulated sugar
* 3/4 tsp vanilla bean paste (or vanilla extract added near the end of mixing)
* 2.5 tsp corn starch
* 2.5 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice (or white vinegar)

INSTRUCTIONS
SWISS MERINGUE PAVLOVA
1. Preheat the oven to 335°f (conventional, not fan bake). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper & trace a 9” circle on it using a cake pan or dinner plate. Set aside.
2. In the bowl of a stand mixer or in a heatproof bowl, combine the egg whites, sugar, & vanilla bean paste, whisk well. Set the bowl over a small pan of simmering water to make a double boiler - make sure that the water does not touch the bottom of the bowl.
3. Whisking almost constantly, heat the egg & sugar mixture until the sugar has dissolved and it reads 170°f on an instant thermometer. Now transfer the bowl to the stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment (be careful grabbing it as it will be hot).
4. Whip the mix on high speed for ~4 minutes, until stiff peaks have formed that are just starting to clump inside the whisk. This may take a little longer depending on your mixer.

Sorry I’m out of room, recipe will be continued in comments🫶

Javits Frimpong, a quiet 15-year-old who left Ghana for a brighter future in New York just one year ago, was fatally shot Thursday morning steps from his Bronx home as he walked to school. His father says he knows who is responsible and points to recent bullying that led to suspensions.

On Thursday, October 29, around 9:24–9:30 a.m., Javits Frimpong was ambushed in the Claremont section of the Bronx, just one block from the apartment he shared with his father. The tenth-grader at DreamYard Preparatory School was struck once in the abdomen.

Surveillance video captured him running for his life as at least one person in black pursued him; he managed to run about a block before collapsing. Officers from the NYPD’s 42nd Precinct, responding to a 911 call, did not wait for an ambulance. They placed the injured teen in a patrol car and rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital. He was initially listed in stable condition after surgery but died a short time later.

Police say Frimpong was the intended target. They are searching for three teenage males, described as wearing black clothing or sweatsuits and blue surgical masks, who fled the scene toward Crotona Park or Fulton Avenue. No arrests have been made, and investigators have not publicly confirmed a motive.

Thomas Frimpong, 60, a yellow cab driver who has lived in New York since around 2000, brought his son from Ghana approximately one year earlier so the boy could pursue better opportunities. Javits’s mother remains in Ghana. The day before the shooting marked roughly the one-year anniversary of Javits’s arrival.

Frimpong believes the killing is connected to bullying at school. He says the principal contacted him about three days earlier to report that two students had been bullying Javits and were suspended for a week. School officials told him Javits was innocent and had only been defending himself.

This loss has shaken not only the Ghanaian community but immigrant families of every background who understand the sacrifices made to give children a better life in America. Our community extends its deepest condolences and solidarity. Rest in perfect peace, Javits.

Gwyn 🩵 | ACOTAR

Please no ship wars under this post. Gwyn is also one of the characters in this story, and she doesn’t have to be associated with males only. She kinda exists as a separate person 🩵

So, after reading her part in ACOSH, she kinda seems suspicious to me. I wouldn’t make her a villain now. But the thing is that her distancing herself from Nesta and Emerie is the weirdest thing for now. She didn’t even attend Nesta’s mating ceremony, like, what happened?

Probably she was upset that they knocked her out at the Rite. But in this scene in ACOSH, she and her sisters priestesses for sure behaved suspiciously. Maybe they grew tired of the fact that nobody is doing anything about the Illyrians and Hybern, since the majority of them caused the priestesses huge damage. And the thing is that they somehow used Briaxis to attack Rhys and Nyx’s Naming Ceremony - does that mean they don’t agree with him and his politics? (Which is another topic to discuss, but in my opinion, he is making crazy and ill-considered moves and decisions right now.)

Somehow, I think they probably feel betrayed or forgotten, so now, since they’ve discovered the Valkyrie skills, and even have a Valkyrie who’s one of them, they feel empowered to do something about it?

Idk, probably something is brewing there… Your thoughts? I’d love to hear what you think.
