KindScroll

Three doors down, a grey cat has taken up position in the front window like a supervisor at the start of a shift.

It notes the delivery van. It notes the kid dragging a scooter home. It notes you, briefly, and decides you may continue.

You walk on feeling faintly inspected, and oddly pleased about it.
