Big win for Jamia Milia protesting Students. After 18 days of protests in rain and sun, hunger strikes, detentions and heavy security fortification, administration relents to key demands. Jamia students union to be resurrected after 20 long years. Elections to be held as per a specific timeline within six weeks of the July academic session next year. Importantly students had underlined in my ground report earlier (watch on YouTube- SmitaSharmaJournalist)- that if DU and other universities can hold student elections, why should a prestigious minority institute deny students their right to a representation.
