Nobody tells you how much losing your job can mess with your confidence.

After 10 years in corporate, I found myself unemployed at 33, sending hundreds of job applications and wondering if I was even good at anything anymore.

At some point, I realized I wasn’t just looking for another job. I was looking for someone to tell me I was good enough.

So I stopped.

Now I’m starting over in my 30s with no clear plan, a small career crisis, and somehow more peace than I’ve felt in years.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who’s ever let a job affect their entire self-worth.

No worries... Soon all humanity will be in the same boat. So enjoy the freedom while you have it 😊 we are so close to be just a digital number with boundaries what to do, when to do...

Laid off a month ago at age 48, just when we’re about to be empty nesters and closer to the thought of retirement. I have no idea what the heck I want to do, or what my passions are. I feel so stuck! I do not want to go back to working for someone after getting burnt by someone who I trusted and who called me family and then let me go.

Sounds familiar! 37 here, my wife and I were both fired at the same time despite doing a good job, fed up of the corporate world so now figuring out what's next. You're not alone!

Relate. Im one year older than you butbbeing in this rollercoaster ride of being able to manage teams rhen gettinf fired 2 days after getting hired, its fast money but its also painful. Its like building a house that keeps having beams break no matter how you fix it. And i wonder if this is happening so much why do we keep tolerating it? Its very toxic. Can i get out? I fidn that the projects i initiated myself and never have to physically send my cv or business cards to are the ones that always make it, not the ones i keep initiating for others to greenlight for me. But its not easy at all. In europe i dont know how you make it with solo freelance work while also being taxed 20%. Im still figuring out but experimenting is my answer to you against corporate

Entrepreneurship is the way. Time to build businesses to help our communities and make this world a better place. It's time to find our own humanity and stop the rat race leading us nowhere. 🙌❤️

Sometimes it just takes a dezoom to see clearly. I learned the hard way that what I called corporate safety was a mirage. No matter how good you are, you hand the power to decide your worth to people who barely know you. Now I dezoom, and I decide. 🤍

The "measuring my success by a job title" part hit hard. So many people tie their worth to an offer letter, and the silence of a long job search makes that so much heavier. Proud of you for choosing yourself 💛

You're not alone! I also felt somehow "abandoned" when I kept looking for a job for months and I know I have experience and I tried to not take it personally. Sometimes they were choosing to work with me after meeting me once, others rejected me after weeks of interviews. But somehow I felt stressed at every job and I kept comparing all the jobs I had. Working online is the best! ✨

Hey Gosia! Just a quick note to let you know that you’re not alone, I was 33 when I left my corporate job after almost A burnout, now I will do my best to not depend anymore on a corporate job, but still in the (long) process to figure out how to build a new system 💘 you’re definitely NOT alone 😊✨
