FREE PUBLIC SHABBAT DINNER!
To our Jewish brothers and sisters who stand with Palestine, who stand against injustice, inequality, and the suffering of others, this is for you. ❤️

You are the ones who remind us what love looks like. What courage looks like. What it means to stand up for what’s right, even when your own Jewish neighbors believe otherwise. You stand out. And that takes courage.

We see you. We hear you. And we will never forget the love and solidarity you’ve shown the Palestinian people.

We may pray differently, we may come from different backgrounds, but at the end of the day, we are human beings before anything else. There is so much more that brings us together than separates us.

On November 20th, we’re opening our doors for our 2nd public Shabbat dinner. Not just to share food, but to share love, conversations, and remind one another that we were never meant to hate each other.

Everyone is invited. Jewish, Muslim, Christian, religious, nonreligious, whatever your background may be. This is a public dinner for our entire community. Come hungry, come with an open heart, and come as you are. There is a place for everyone at our table.

We are arranging a strictly kosher food section, with a separate tent outside, alongside our regular Palestinian food for everyone else.

For example, our beloved Mansaf is made with lamb and fermented yogurt. Jewish dietary laws prohibit mixing meat and dairy. What may seem like a small detail to someone else is an important part of someone else’s faith. And that matters to me.

To our local Jewish community members who can help oversee the kosher arrangements, and to any kosher caterers in the area, please contact us directly. We want everything done properly, from preparation to serving.

Because if we’re going to say we respect one another’s religion, then we need to actually respect it. Not halfway. Not just when it’s convenient. Down to the very last detail.

To our Jewish brothers and sisters who have stood with us, thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

With love, gratitude, a free Palestine and a heartfelt Shabbat Shalom,

@abdul.elenani
