And everyone else at the table was dressed the same. Then he takes his wife and kid to a £1,500 a year club, ready to spend about £60 (three meals, two drinks each, bit of ice cream for the wee one)... and he can't, because he can't wear his hat.
Colin called the dress code debate age old, and our guest reckons it's exactly the sort of thing that tells young golfers they don't belong.

Difference is... you had a meeting in the states, where their is zero dress code .... they eat with the wring hands, wear hats inside.... Britain is different, just take your hat off inside?

How far do you take it ? The person who feels comfy in swimming trunks , flip flops , bare top and cap on back to front having dinner in the clubhouse ! Always going to be the person who pushes the boundaries

I dress relaxed ....i dont have an issue with private club dress codes. You can do both....i like the tradition

Don’t mind relaxing dress code on and off the course and I’m old school lover of tradition and etiquette. But there is no place for a cap at any dinner table
