This is why it’s so important to vote early. I can’t imagine if all this had happened Election Day trying to get to the polls during or after work. If you want the dog days to be over, get out and vote for change! Many elections are determined by just a handful of votes. I went to the wrong address. It was at a local YMCA. We have 2. Luckily there were no lines at either one. Of course there was no “vote here” at the first one.

I'm happy I voted the first day of early voting because the second day of voting I lost my ID so if I hadn't voted I wouldn't be able to vote

I signed up for all mail in ballots this year and my ballot for this one came 2 weeks after my husband's. So I made an alternative plan to vote early. But I finally got my mail in ballot. I filled out our and returned it to a drop box (didn't put it back in the mail after all that) before a big trip across the country. (We live in Michigan, BTW)

I tried early voting twice before I was successful. My husband couldn’t come the second time so he is going to have to go on election day. The first time we both separately looked up the time the polls closed on that date and it said 7:00. Apparently that was for a nearby county and in order to find out that ours closed a few hours earlier we literally had to download an app. Even after the fact we could only find the 7:00 time online anywhere. Then when I went to vote I found that my toddler had deleted my music app and it somehow wasn’t even in my history of apps I’ve had on my phone so I was very confused, then there was road work on the way there and the guy directing it was making hand signals at me that I didn’t understand so by the time I got to the polling place I had to sit in my car for a few minutes because my nervous system was in panic mode. But the actual voting was fine. Well it took longer because there’s always this poll worker man who lingers way too close when I go to vote so I had to wait a minute and pretend to be reading a bunch of stuff I already read ahead of time before he went away.
