We are saddened to acknowledge the passing of actress Susan Saint James, who died of pancreatic cancer at age 80.

She was best known for her roles in the television series "McMillan & Wife" and "Kate & Allie."

When Tim’s family and friends came together to honor his memory, they created something truly special: a day filled with community. 💜

Through their PanCAN Wage Hope My Way fundraiser, Jackie, Tim’s widow, their children Evan, Olivia and Grace, and a dedicated group of friends organized Team Up for Tim: Memorial Corn Hole, bringing their hometown of Everett, Massachusetts, together to celebrate Tim’s legacy.

Event organizer Caitlin shared, “Jackie and the kids realized that they wanted to celebrate Tim in a way that would bring his friends and family together just as he would have wanted it.”

And their community showed up in a big way. Hundreds of people gathered to play cornhole, cheer on competitors, participate in raffles, enjoy delicious food and share memories of Tim. There were moments of laughter alongside full and heavy hearts.

Among those who attended were a medical student who met Tim on her first day at the hospital, as well as one of Tim’s pulmonary specialists. Catherine, the medical student, shared a moving speech about Tim and the importance of pancreatic cancer research.

Research was deeply important to Tim. Before his passing from pancreatic cancer, he generously shared his medical information with doctors in the hope of advancing research and helping them better understand the disease. Team Up for Tim carried that commitment forward by raising more than $26,000 to support PanCAN’s $250 million All Together We Can campaign to turn science into survival.

For the friends who helped bring the event to life, being there for Jackie and her children was about more than organizing a fundraiser. It was about showing up for a family they love and helping create a future where survival is the expectation, not the exception.

Pancreatic cancer is often called a “silent” disease because symptoms are rarely noticeable in its early stages. When symptoms do appear, they can be subtle or easily mistaken for other health issues. Awareness of the signs and understanding your personal risk factors are critical, and early detection dramatically improves treatment options and outcomes. 💜

Anna Berkenblit, MD, MMSc, PanCAN's Chief Scientific and Medical Officer, shares: “No one knows your body better than you. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t ignore it. Talk to your doctor and keep pushing for answers. At PanCAN, we’re working every day to make sure earlier detection and better treatments become the expectation, not the exception.”

@yaku.____ and @m.olise celebrate young creatives with his co-designed Ballon d’Or look ⚽

For last week’s Ballon d’Or ceremony, footballer Michael Olise collaborated with YAKU on his evening outfit, bringing in the London-based designer’s previous intern and Leeds Arts Graduate, @charliebrownmade, to lead the project in-house, as well as CSM graduate @zacmcgarry________.

The tailored suit encompasses his experimental ethos through traditional tailoring, featuring an asymmetric double-breasted blazer complete with matching epaulettes that reference military uniforms, held together by bespoke natural rock-inspired, diamond-encrusted buttons hand-crafted from silver and amethyst by @the_ouze.

Shot entirely on 16mm film, the BTS footage follows the design process from initial sketch to construction and final fittings, spotlighting the detailed craftsmanship that went into the look as well as backstage moments before the historic ceremony.

“Working with Michael felt very intentional from the start, with his creative input shaping every aspect of the suit,” YAKU says. “We already knew he was super creative on the pitch, but are certain now that he has a super interesting future ahead in the creative field.”
