"Land" by Maggie O'Farrell 4⭐️

Switched between 🎧 & 📚 for this read.

I went into this book with such high expectations and honestly I really struggled to get into it. It was our Book Club read last July and I read the first 150 or so pages at the time and found it hard going and I just wasn't engaging with the characters or the story itself.

However after hearing such good reviews about it I gave it another go this month and ended up loving it, especially the second half of the book which I couldn't put down once I became invested in the characters and their lives, both in Ireland and abroad.

A slow, heavy start, but overall a book I'm really glad I revisited!

What are your thoughts on this book?

It's my bookclub book for this month. Not sure I'll get it read in less than 3 weeks though. Seems a chunky book. But looking forward to it.

I actually found it more engaging in the first half, but I was invested in the characters and finished it. Heartbreaking, but beautiful.
