It's going to be another amazing day, no work, just me and some of my best friends on this planet in the same geographical area! I sometimes think of how far I've come. That was just a glimpse into the past 2 weeks. Imagine the life I lived that got me here!
I've been a pretty private person with most things in my life, and to know a few of the stories, you'd probably want to say you know me, but you'd be wrong. I know what I am, and oftentimes it scares me, but that answer will always be a United States MARINE! I'm still finding out who I am, and it's one of the reasons, I never quit putting one foot in front of the other.
In nearly 49 years few have ever seen a tear in my eye, and fewer have ever heard the reasons why. Long after the uniform, or the traumas for some, the sounds of war still echo in your mind, it's often hard to put words like perseverance, determination, or drive behind the losses you replay. They become excuses and explanations for your actions. You get so caught up in what the world says you are supposed to do, that you forget what you did or can do! There is no shame in hurting, only in quitting!
