Happy Día de Muertos, World Vegan Day, and first day of World Vegan Month! We have been celebrating with some fabulous Pan de Muerto from
@lacasademamapdx. Soft and infused with the classic flavors of anise and orange 🍊 zest, these delicious traditional Mexican sweet breads come in four fabulous varieties that will be available through November 8:
⠀
🌾 Traditional with Ajonjolí: their classic, finished with toasted sesame seeds.
⠀
🌼 Traditional with Cempasúchil Sugar: their classic, finished with a sugar and marigold blend, the flower that guides our loved ones home.
⠀
🖤 Black with Totomoxtle Sugar: their black pan, finished with a black sugar made from totomoxtle, burnt corn husk leaves.
⠀
🌺 Black with Jamaica Sugar: their black pan, finished with a dried hibiscus and sugar blend.
⠀
We look forward to continuing the World Vegan Month celebration with
@veganizerpdx’s amazing World Vegan Month specials, which will benefit nonprofit organizations selected by each of the 35 participating businesses. Here’s the list of them: https://veganizerpdx.com/world-vegan-month/ (Link in bio of @veganizerpdx)
⠀
This month is also a wonderful opportunity for vegetarians who want to try vegan for 30 days with the Veg2Vegan Challenge, a project of LGBTQ-led
@vinesanctuary and
@afrovegansociety, a nationwide association of Black vegans. There will be 30 days of delicious recipes, information, inspiration, and support for the process of replacing dairy and eggs with plant-based alternatives. This starts today and you can sign up here: https://veg2vegan.org (link in bio of @vinesanctuary)
