🏉 Vectis RFC U12s Festival Report – Farnborough
Our Under 12s hit the road for our furthest away fixture in a while! With a later start time, the squad took a little while to wake up against a well-drilled Winchester side who were already firing from their morning games.
As the day progressed, so did our momentum and confidence! 🌟
🛡️ Highlights & Defense
Defensive Masterclass: By far our best defensive display came in the second half of our third game against Wimborne, defending phase after phase with a tackle and turnover count the team can be immensely proud of.
Try Time: Hugh Ramsey kept his ever-growing try count ticking over with brilliant speed and great awareness of space on the outside.
Tackle Machine: Leonardo Skittlethorpe-Davis put in one of the highest tackle counts of the day—highlighted by an incredible four tackles made consecutively!
Fantastic Debuts: Huge congratulations to Ralph Farman and Freddie Kemp on making their debuts for the team!
🌟 Players of the Day
Ralph Farman: An outstanding debut performance featuring some of the best tackle technique in the team combined with strong carrying. Definitely one to watch!
Albee Lynch: Put in endless hard work in defense and at the breakdown, securing multiple crucial turnovers.
Well done, boys! 👏
📋 Coach’s Corner
“Lots of positives from today. The physicality and aggression in contact was some of the best on the field. Generally, we defended too narrow and subsequently were punished out wide—nothing we can’t put right in training. Well done all!” — Ed Lynch, Coach
