Could a blockbuster move to Montreal actually happen? ππ·πΊ
According to Elliotte Friedman, Nikita Kucherov is reportedly open to a trade and has the Canadiens on his radar:
βI do believe if Tampa was going to trade him, and Montreal & Toronto could come up with a package Tampa would like, those are two teams among many he would consider.β
Even at 33 years old, the elite winger continues to put up massive numbers with 4 goals and 18 points through his first 13 games. Plus, with his former Lightning teammate Martin St. Louis behind the bench in Montreal (the two shared the ice for 39 games back in the day), the connection is definitely there!
Does bringing in a superstar like Kucherov fit the Habs' current window, or is the acquisition cost just too high to pull the trigger?

I think itβs best to rather wait for summer to try McDavid. Thereβs no way weβre clogging our salary cap for 6 years of 20 million dollars.

I love Kucherov but as a Habs fan, his price is too high for us to sacrifice solid prospects and players for

For Montreal to get him they will have to give something big. Iβm not willing to part with one of our top players. Would hurt the team, especially with such a tight group. He can go to Toronto with the other super paid superstars that canβt win.
