2 days agoRudolf Steiner didn’t want doctrinal purity. There’s a great story about a Steiner teacher who, back in the day, noticed the class 4 kids, affected by war, were acting out (processing) war in the playground. He decided that the Norse myths were the perfect healing and processing aid for these affected kids. And hence we have the Norse myths in class 4. Rudolf himself encouraged us the think outside the box and adapt to situations. It’s a philosophy, not a rule. So you’re doing great! 😍
2 days agoI taught at a Waldorf-inspired school for many years and was also a mom there. Now that I offer homeschool enrichment, Waldorf is still my guide and part of my background, but I don’t describe my program as Waldorf-inspired. I think when we hear that label, it comes with certain expectations I know mine are high! Describing my program as nature-inspired, with a mix of different approaches, gives me the freedom to choose what works for my group without feeling tied to celebrating every festival or having families expect that from me.
