These are things I experience because of my multiple sclerosis, but they can happen for MANY other reasons.

Here’s why MS can cause them:

Feeling like my leg is wet when it’s dry: MS can disrupt nerve signals, making you feel sensations that aren’t actually happening.

Dropping things: MS can affect grip strength, coordination, and your ability to feel what you’re holding.

Calling everything “the thingy”: Sometimes I know what I want to say, but my brain can’t find the word. MS can affect how we process and retrieve information.

Tripping over nothing: MS can affect balance, coordination, and how well you lift your feet when walking.

Feeling like my bra is too tight when I’m not wearing one: This can be the MS hug, a sensation of tightness or pressure around your chest or ribs.

Leaving early when I’m still having fun: MS fatigue isn’t just being tired. Sometimes my body is done before I am. Loud, crowded places can make it worse.

Needing a nap after showering: Heat can temporarily worsen MS symptoms, and even a shower can take a surprising amount of energy.

Walking into doorframes: MS can affect balance, vision, coordination, and your awareness of where your body is in space.

And just to be clear, NONE of these symptoms automatically means you have MS. They’re not unique to MS.

There’s no single symptom or test that confirms MS. Diagnosis involves your medical history, neurological exam, MRIs, and sometimes additional testing.

I’m sharing this because MS doesn’t always look the way people expect. Sometimes it’s the little things you wouldn’t think twice about.

If you’re experiencing new or unexplained neurological symptoms, talk to a medical professional rather than diagnosing yourself from a reel.
