the hardest part was having to stop for something i couldn’t control. i couldn’t change the weather and when i couldn’t stay warm, finishing wasn’t the smart or safe thing to do.

i care so much about this sport and where i want to go in it. i don’t want to disappoint anyone who believes in me, and i hope you’ll keep coming along on this journey, even when it looks like this.

i still believe i can get there. i’m going to learn from this and keep putting in the work. thank you for following along and still supporting even if things don’t go exactly the way i think/hope!

I was out there too and also had fully trained in hot weather, I live in hot weather, and I was overcome by how cold it was especially when the rain set in Saturday night. I was cold all day even before the rain started. I had on 4 layers and was shivering like crazy, between that and that terrible mud my race ended early too. Be so proud of your preparation and your effort!! This result will just make your next finish that much more rewarding 🙌✨

The bitter sweet part of ultra racing! It is not the type of racing where you just can’t go in 100% confident you will accomplish your goals! Your putting your body past its limits and that in itself is a huge feat! Champion always! And the most important thing is that your safe, always learning, continuing to improve and chase those incredible goals!

I was there doing crew for my daughter who had to drop at mile 65, the conditions were too slippery for a slight hip issue going in and the sliding made it so much worse. You made the best choice for YOU and your body and your health! Congratulations on your run, you doing that for 85 miles is incredible!

Stop trying to get a reason, and just do it again again again, and someone will be always better then you, so don't try to be the best in the world, try to be the best in your eye's

OMG I worked the Javelina main aid station before the rain got crazy, and I thought I saw you!! So cool! Like you said, getting back up is the important part.
