This picture popped up today. It’s of me at DCR and two years since I found out my time there was ending.

Six years of Funkin’ Soul. To be honest, It was a proving ground for me and taught me (sometimes, not always) how to play to empty rooms. That’d humble your ass.

Every week a new playlist, hours of listening, and cutting tracks like Drag Race queens till I had what I wanted. Some songs only got that one spin but they’re still immortalized lovingly in the recording.

And @djikaika , @rob__alahn , @dougmixer @djlennylovealfonzo , the way you all embraced me and made sure I knew I belonged. That stays with me. I’m a fan and a friend and downtown brothers, no matter where we go around the world.

I grew so much in that room, on the decks and off. Looking at this smile, I know why it was there.
