UWL 30 Rising Stars: Creative Careers
Naz Sheikh is a professional actor, a career he came to after working as a flight dispatcher for London City Airport. In 2016 he left this job to become a full-time carer for his wife, before returning to Drama Studio London to study acting.
In 2026, Naz performed and helped to produce FLIGHT: One Man's Journey. This one-man show speaks to Naz' Bangladeshi roots and won Best in Fringe at the Greater Manchester Fringe. He has since toured Brighton, Greater Manchester, Buxton, Camden, and Windsor.
As a mature student who balanced his studies with caring responsibilities, Naz' story demonstrates that it's never too late to pursue your dreams.
