The results are in! Following the vote across our website and Facebook group, Machka the Anatolian Shepherd Mix is officially elected the 3rd Honorary Dog Mayor of New York City, with a final tally of 4,877 votes to 4,589 votes for Dr .Computer Chips the Shih Tzu! It was an extraordinarily close race—the lead changed hands 12 times throughout the day, with a surge in voting in the last hour—but Machka’s momentum proved decisive! Dr. Computer Chips will assume the role of Machka’s right-hand pup, serving as Deputy Dog Mayor of NYC! We’ll have a fuller breakdown of the round’s results in our next Substack entry, so read and subscribe at the link in our bio! We want to extend our deepest thanks to Dr. Computer Chips and all of the pups who ran for NYC Dog Mayor—it’s a grueling process and we’re grateful to all who participated. Our gratitude extends to our followers and supporters from both NYC and around the world—over 20 countries voted in the final round alone, proving that our message of positivity, kindness, fun, and civic engagement knows no borders! But the ballot-casting isn’t over! Please get out and VOTE in today’s Human Being Election Day, to ensure that Machka isn’t the only great person elected to office this week! Machka and Dr. Chips will take the Oaf of Office at our indoguration ceremony on the steps of NY City Hall on Sunday, January 17! The ceremony will mark the Peaceful Transfer of Pawer from our current Mayor Simon, who has served with great dognity and forthrightness! And keep an eye on our Instagram, Facebook page, and our website for updated brackets, info about upcoming contests and events, and more! #DogMayorNYC

He made it look that easy 😭 David Beckham’s 2007 beach freestyle video shows him juggling a soccer ball before methodically kicking three separate balls into distant trash cans with pinpoint accuracy. The clip went viral years later as people debated whether the trick shots were real or part of a staged commercial. Beckham eventually confirmed the footage was authentic, though it was filmed for a Pepsi advertisement. The video resurfaced repeatedly across social media because the technical difficulty and casual execution made it seem impossible, sparking endless arguments about whether the VFX was actually necessary or if Beckham just has that kind of precision with a ball at his feet. #soccer #football #viral
