Rhythm 🤍🪽 one whole year without my best girl, the barns not the same without her.

For Rhythm
May 12th, 2004-August 29th, 2025
Good horses aren’t gone, they’re in the Rhythm of every hoofbeat.
Good horses aren’t gone, they’re in every memory you share.
Good horses aren’t gone, they’re in every lesson they taught.
Good horses aren’t gone, they’re a part of you forever.
Good horses aren’t gone, they’re in every leg you swing over another.
Good horses aren’t gone, they’re in every pretty sunset and sunrise between the ears.
Good horses aren’t gone, they’re just gone on before, waiting on you at the pearly gates for an endless ride in paradise.
Thank God for the good horses in Heaven, missing a tail but gaining a part of your heart.

🩶 Instructor Spotlight 🩶

Autumn Baisden: “Hi everyone! I’m the owner and operator of Baisden’s Stable, LLC. I consider it a blessing that I get to share my passion for horses on land that was passed down from my grandpa, to my dad, and now to me with you. In addition to running the stable, I work full-time as an Occupational Therapist. I grew up riding gaited horses, competing in speed pacing classes, and trail riding. In college, I rode for Eastern Kentucky University’s Equestrian Saddleseat Team. After graduating, I became a PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor and worked at Central Kentucky Riding for Hope in Lexington before I moved back home. These days, I enjoy trail riding in the beautiful West Virginia hills on my horse Rena-Wave in my spare time. I look forward to helping you grow your skills this year and help you become a well-rounded horseman or horsewoman.” 🩶

One of my favorite things to do with our younger riders is to combine learning to steer the horse with a learning component like spelling.

For this lesson, we set up obstacles in the arena, then added cones with certain letters on them so that our rider would have to steer her horse to each letter in order to spell a word.

Not only does this help provide direction for the rider, it also helps maintain their attention to task while working on their ability to multitask and practice their executive functioning skills in and out of the saddle.

🍁🐴 September Lesson Recap 🐴🍁

“I saw so much growth this month with ALL of our riders! Special shoutout to Olivia and Lilly this month. Lilly impressed me so much in her handling with her horse Molly, in and out of the saddle. Molly is a very smart horse, but this month Lilly has really started building a great relationship with firm boundaries with Molly. Olivia’s started working on her canter and has been really perfecting her trot. So exciting seeing my riders meet their goals!” - @auti_07

“September came and went just like this sun… I’m sad to be on my last month of fall lessons, but glad to be giving these horses a much deserved winter break off. This month I have seen so many leaps and bounds be made between all my riders, but what has really stood out for me was getting to watch Michelle pick up the trot and ride it beautifully without even knowing she did it. And then to pick it back up again with the same positive energy was just the icing on the cake. I’m so proud of every one of them. Also this fall made one year of giving riding lessons for me. I am truly blessed to be given this opportunity to help shape these riders into some tough as nails cowgirls and cannot wait to see what spring brings us.” - @courtney_lynn_369

New skill unlocked for Olivia 👏🏽 Would you believe me if I told you this was only her second time cantering?! She did so good. She’s worked so hard this year and has progressed from just starting to understand the trot to learning to canter. Shes dedicated and truly loves the horse. Proud of you chickadee!

August Lesson Recap ☀️

“My favorite part of August was seeing all of my lesson kiddos get more comfortable with the horse care/unmounted components of our lesson program. To me, this is more valuable than the actual riding part for building the love for the horse.” - @auti_07

“What a month of growth Watching Harper Jeffrey pick up her on and off the horse skills so quickly with only a couple of lessons each month has been such a joy. Her confidence, determination, and willingness to learn shines through every time she gets to the barn. I’m so proud of how far she’s come in a short amount of time! Here’s to many more lessons, milestones, and happy rides! ” - @courtney_lynn_369 by @baisdensstablellc

Ladies Night at the Barn: Favorite Things Party was so much fun! 👯‍♀️✨
Boomer was allowed to join even though he’s a gelding and he was the star of the show. 💕 Thank you everyone who attended. Swipe to the end to see Memaw’s favorite part of the party: getting her chair back. 😆
