I like a top sheet my spouse doesn’t. Our flat sheets are now used to make duvet covers 🤷. I used to put the flat sheet on the bed under the fitted sheet for extra mattress protection. Now two sets of sheets make a duvet cover and you still have all the pillow cases (which you need! 🤣). However, I do separate laundry.

I find washing the duvet cover painful. Putting the duvet in and out of the cover. Therefore top sheet works. Duvet cover once a month or so.

I actually put the top sheet under the fitted sheet. Makes for a softer layer, and helps slow down liquids when they drip, because I definitely don't bring drinks to bed

THESE ARE WILD TO THINK ABOUT!!! WHYYYY! 😭😅 I WOULD HAVE RUN FROM THIS GIRL. 😂
▫️Washed my hair only with baking soda and vinegar
▫️Used coconut oil as toothpaste
▫️Didn’t wear deodorant
▫️Washed my face with coffee grounds
▫️Told her dog not to sleep on the bed (THIS HAUNTS ME NOW)
▫️Brought my own sheets to her house because I couldn’t sleep on dog hair
▫️Washed clothes with only water
▫️Convinced her to throw out her nail polish because of toxins
▫️Juiced garlic to drink 🤮

Even though we did fertility treatments to have our twin boys, I still feel like an imposter in the infertility community. 🤍
We tried IUI’s, at-home insemination, and eventually IVF to have our twins. And although we had a long journey, we were never diagnosed with infertility. We needed to access fertility treatments because we were missing a key ingredient, not because of an infertility diagnosis.
So whenever I share things for Infertility Awareness weeks, like this one, I often feel like a bit of an imposter. 😬
Sure, we absolutely know the pain and heartbreak and emotional, physical and financial stress of it all, but I still wonder if it’s my place to chime in under that title? Because truthfully, I don’t know what it’s like to have an infertility diagnosis. I don’t know what it’s like to try to conceive at home, to have medical investigations, and the additional feelings and navigations all that must bring.
I know many other struggles that are unique to queer folks, absolutely, but it’s not the same struggles.
So as much as I love sharing our story, our struggles, and hope during weeks like these, I also want to acknowledge that I don’t fully feel like it’s my place to - I just don’t have any other week dedicated to “fertility treatments for another reason awareness week”!
However, not once has anyone with infertility told us this. We’ve been supported, loved, and held by so many throughout it all. As they say: worst club, best members (and boy is that true!) 🥹❤️
Does anyone else feel this way? I’ve never really mentioned it out loud, but was curious if anyone else like us sort of feels out of place as well!? 🤍❤️

Since I’m well on the other side of this, I wanted to share some real thoughts and things about my pregnancy and postpartum. I hope this helps one person out there feel less alone, and maybe encourages you to reach out to someone for support. 🤍🥹
Parental mental health is something I’m really passionate about!! I struggled so much, especially in pregnancy. It’s the worst I’ve ever felt. Yet there was no support. Even the therapists I saw were quite dismissive (definitely just needed to find a better fit, but didn’t have the mental energy!) The best support we got was from our doulas, but not everyone is in a place to be able to have doula support.
Perinatal and postpartum support could be so much better. ❤️‍🩹 It’s such a tough time for so many parents! 🥲
After 3.5 years, I absolutely love being a mom. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done and those tough times were worth every moment, but that didn’t make it easier at the time!!
If you need support, please reach out to someone. Your mental health matters and you’re far from alone in how you feel. 🤍
