Whilst not this exact perfume, it was Comme Des Garçon perfumes that were my gateway into perfumery wanting more than just to smell nice. Especially @buxton.mark incense usage in their profiles. 2Man was the first but Quarzazate is the most recent one I’ve picked up. Well technically CDG White is on the way from Vinted but I’ve not got it yet. It’s was the beautifully abstract concepts & notes that got me & made me think of perfume as a thing that could hold so much more.

Quarzazate has a beautiful combination of spices feeling both warm & cold that linger under a dark almost scratchy smoke. It’s got the texture of rough cut wood or a heavy linen. There’s softness too, as a counter to the pepper & liquorice. Green tea adds a subtle warmth with sage adding a herbal twist with kisses of sweet berries & vanilla hidden in the smoke. It’s an incense with a touch of mystery hidden in the dark. I’m also a big fan of Kyoto & Avignon from the incense line.
