“Here, the artist reverts to the theme of “la belle Rafaëla”, this time in the form of a large geometric composition. Lempicka was seeking a sort of synthesis and summary of her art since the twenties, but this circa ion reflects the sure hand she could no longer boast during the seventies. Hence, it would be more logical to date this painting to the end fifties, despite the dating provided next to the signature.”
