Cheers to the most, honest, philanthropic, talented, filmmaker, singer, creator, generous, beautiful humans on the planet! Cheers to you and all of your beautiful light you bring to this messed up beautiful, planet!! Thank you for all the support and guidance you have given to me. Thank you for your time and important input. It is invaluable and has allowed me to learn and make a much better film! Thank you for your integrity!“Adam and Eve” Once owned by Barbra Streisand, Adam and Eve, 1931, Oil on wood panel 116 x 73 cm (45 5/8 x 28 3/4 in) DE LEMPICKA.
The male model who came to Lempicka’s studio to pose as Adam was, Lempicka maintained, a policeman doing his rounds in the neighborhood. Long thereafter, the artist remembered how, after entering her studio, the handsome public official had painstakingly folded his uniform, setting down upon it “his big pistol”...(cf. “Passion by Design” by K. de Lempicka-Foxhall). An interview published in the Polish review “Kobieta W...” informs us that this painting, originally intended as a poster for a film called “Sexualism”, was turned down by the Paris police headquarters.

Tamara de Lempicka, Raphaela in Mauve, 1957/1975, Oil on canvas.

By Alain Blondel, expert in Tamara de Lempicka:
“Here, the artist reverts to the theme of “la belle Rafaëla”, this time in the form of a large geometric composition. Lempicka was seeking a sort of synthesis and summary of her art since the twenties, but this circa ion reflects the sure hand she could no longer boast during the seventies. Hence, it would be more logical to date this painting to the end fifties, despite the dating provided next to the signature.”

By Marisa de Lempicka:
“I feel Tamara finished the background while living in Mexico. In the mid seventies that mauve color became her favorite color! The house in Cuernavaca was all painted this color and the furniture was all white!” #lgbtqa #womenartists #tamaradelempicka #lempicka #art by @tamaradelempickadoc

Tamara de Lempicka, Arlette Boucard with Arums, 1931, Oil on wood panel. By Alain Blondel, expert in Tamara de Lempicka:
“Lempicka took much inspiration from the movie and photograph worlds of her day. She did not seek to copy them, in a hyperrealist fashion, but rather to capture their new charms, especially with respect to the artificial lighting in studio work. The shape and position of the label appearing under the photo reveal that the cliché comes from a studio belonging to Lorelle, a photographer who, moreover, also made several lovely portraits of Lempicka.” #monday #art #flowers #artist #tamaradelempicka by @tamaradelempickadoc

Tamara de Lempicka, The Dream (Rafaela against a green background), Le Rêve (Rafaëla sur fond vert), 1927, Oil on canvas.

La belle Rafaela:
In the biography she devoted to her mother, Kizette de Lempicka-Foxhall informs us that “la belle” Rafaëla apparently approached Lempicka during one of the latter’s daily morning walks in the Bois de Boulogne. The young woman, presented to us as a nymphomaniac, is said to have struck Lempicka by her beauty “...Never had I seen a more beautiful woman - enormous black eyes, a splendid body. I stopped her and asked: ‘Miss, I am a painter and I would like you to come sit for me. Would you accept?’ She answered: ‘Yes, why not?’ So I said to her: ‘Well, then, come along. My car is here.’ Lempicka seems to have been fully satisfied with her model, since she had her continue the sittings for over a year: for “ The Pink Tunic” in particular, but apparently she can also be recognized in “The Dream”, which is captioned “Rafaëla against a Green Background” in an article by Arsène Alexandre (“Tamara de Lempicka”, La Renaissance de l’art français et des industries de luxe, July, 1929)”. #artdeco #happyhalloween #artist #tamaradelempicka by @tamaradelempickadoc
