Gumtree Greys

At least 160 horses lost their lives as a result of racing in Australia during the 2025–26 racing season.

This doesn’t capture the thousands of animals discarded by the racing industries every year, labelled as “wastage” once they’re no longer profitable, fast enough or fit to risk their lives for a flutter.

Behind every statistic is an animal. A life. A heartbeat. A being who deserves so much more than to be treated as a commodity for human entertainment and gambling.

Today, and every day, we stand in solidarity with our friends working tirelessly in racehorse rescue, rehabilitation and advocacy. The unpaid volunteers, rescuers and supporters who give these beautiful animals a chance at a life beyond the track.
To everyone doing this work: we see you, we thank you, and we’re standing right alongside you 🧡

Please join us in saying #NupToTheCup.
Support racehorse rescue and rehabilitation organisations however you can – donate, volunteer, foster, share their work or simply help raise awareness. Every action matters. Because horses and greyhounds deserve lives beyond the finish line.
