Albatross is the Nepali band that defines alternative rock in Nepal. It started in 1998 in Kathmandu as a three-piece school band, playing old, rusty instruments and mixing Nepali rock with western alternative sounds. Out of that mix came a sound that belonged only to them.

They began in the underground metal scene, then grew into the voice of Nepali alternative rock. Their songs speak about real issues in Nepal, which is why so many people feel they were written for them. Albatross has also taken that sound beyond Nepal, with tours abroad.

After more than 25 years, Albatross is still inspiring young rock musicians across the country. If you love Nepali rock, this is where it all comes together.
