Hey Sailaa” — Abhaya & The Steam Engines is a soulful Nepali song that blends melodic rock with expressive storytelling, creating a sound that feels both fresh and deeply emotional. Led by Abhaya Subba’s distinctive vocals and rich musical arrangement, the track moves between heartfelt verses and uplifting moments, inviting listeners in with its warm musical textures and thoughtful lyrics.

What makes Hey Sailaa particularly memorable is its blend of languages — including parts sung in Tamang — which adds cultural depth and texture to the song. Which Version of "Jhim Jhimaune Aakha" Is Your Favorite?

Ekdev Limbu's "Jhim Jhimaune Aakha" quickly became one of Nepal's biggest contemporary musical successes, earning millions of views and streams while introducing his distinctive songwriting and vocal style to a global audience. Written, composed, and performed by Ekdev Limbu, the song's emotional melody and memorable hook have made it one of the defining Nepali releases of recent years.

The song's popularity soon crossed national borders. In 2025, it received an official Hindi adaptation titled "Jhim Jhim," featuring Ekdev Limbu alongside Indian playback singer Neha Kakkar. While preserving the song's recognizable musical identity, the Hindi version introduced new lyrics and reached a broader South Asian audience through a major cross border collaboration.

The melody has since expanded even further with "One Glimpse," a Chinese language adaptation performed by Chinese actress and singer Zhao Lusi. The release introduced the composition to Chinese listeners, demonstrating how a Nepali song has successfully transcended linguistic and cultural boundaries through official international adaptations.

Now the question is yours.

Which version do you prefer?

• Jhim Jhimaune Aakha (Nepali Original)
• Jhim Jhim (Hindi Version)
• One Glimpse (Chinese Version)

Albatross is the Nepali band that defines alternative rock in Nepal. It started in 1998 in Kathmandu as a three-piece school band, playing old, rusty instruments and mixing Nepali rock with western alternative sounds. Out of that mix came a sound that belonged only to them.

They began in the underground metal scene, then grew into the voice of Nepali alternative rock. Their songs speak about real issues in Nepal, which is why so many people feel they were written for them. Albatross has also taken that sound beyond Nepal, with tours abroad.

After more than 25 years, Albatross is still inspiring young rock musicians across the country. If you love Nepali rock, this is where it all comes together.

Stay tuned for the upcoming release, as we recently got to see the teaser!

Some melodies carry emotions that never fade, finding new meaning with every rendition. Originally performed by The Edge Band, “Nachaheko Haina” is a heartfelt expression of unconditional love, unspoken pain and the longing to be loved for a lifetime. Its soulful melody and deeply emotional lyrics capture the ache of loving someone who may never understand the depth of your feelings.

Bringing a fresh, raw and intimate touch to this timeless composition, Safal Beekay & Prince Neupane revisit the beloved track through their acoustic cover, allowing its emotions to shine through a more stripped-back musical interpretation. A beautiful meeting of nostalgia and renewed expression, reminding us that some songs never lose their place in our hearts.

With an inspiring message at its core, the song encourages listeners to remain committed to their aspirations and keep moving forward despite the obstacles along the way.

A long-awaited return that celebrates the enduring spirit of music and the determination to keep creating.
