This journey to pick up our boy happened SO FAST. We got the call and had less than an hour to pack before driving five hours to San Antonio. On the way, we were finishing paperwork and calling our families, who had no idea we had even started the adoption process.

Then came shopping for everything we needed to bring a baby home from the hospital… except home for the week was San Antonio. Everything had to fit in the car back to Dallas the following week with our luggage and two dogs. 😂

The hospital sent us with bags of diapers, formula, and extra clothes because we had nothing. Night one, we had ONE bottle and were washing it every two hours in a bathroom sink. It was a wild ride, and we’re so thankful @crib_and_kids helped us get situated for the week and were sooo kind as we were rushing around!

We felt so unprepared physically, yet God had been preparing our hearts for this all along. 🤍

We are forever grateful for Ellis’ birth family, their love for him, and the trust they placed in us. We will never take that lightly. 🥹
