Day one at Australia’s newest international airport, and Goji was already on the case 🐶🍌
The biosecurity detector dog and his handler, Katie, were working at Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport on October 26, 2026, the first day international passengers arrived. Goji sniffed out undeclared bananas and pistachios in a traveler’s luggage, making the airport’s first-ever detector dog interception.
The airport, Australia’s first brand-new greenfield commercial airport in more than 50 years, opened to international travelers that day with a flight from Auckland, and six detector dog teams were on duty from the start.
Good boy, Goji 🏆
