There are giants, and then there is Abigail.

This past week, we lost Abigail Johnston to metastatic breast cancer.

Abigail was a wife, a mom of two young boys, and lawyer. She lived with metastatic breast cancer since 2017 and worked relentlessly to advocate for the community and teach others the importance of advocating for MBC.

She was never too busy to help someone in need of advice, or to make the connection that someone didn’t yet know they needed.

She was a gifted writer. No one could put things into words the way Abigail could, and no one could make you feel as seen as she did. She was your fiercest ally and your harshest critic- always coming from a place of deep love. She told you the truth because she believed you could rise to it.

Abigail will never know the full measure of the lives she touched. Every person she helped, challenged, encouraged, or simply listened to carries a piece of her forward, and so her work does not end. It lives on in all of us.

Thank you, Abigail, for everything you taught us, your beautiful words, and your unwavering friendship.

We will miss you forever and hold your family and loved ones close to our hearts.
