We’re honoured to welcome Islam Ramadan El-Said, Egyptian calligraphy artist and instructor, to Islamic Art Week 2026 ✨
For centuries, the reed pen has carried more than ink. It has carried patience, devotion, and the quiet discipline of turning a single line into something that feels like prayer.
With a Diploma in Arabic Calligraphy, over ten years of teaching, and an Ijaza in seven cursive scripts, Islam carries the tradition the way it was meant to be carried: hand to hand, heart to heart. His award-winning work, shown at the Cairo International Calligraphy Forum, is rooted in preserving the classical masters.
In his workshop, Introduction to Nastaliq Script, he will:
🌙 Walk us through the history of Nastaliq and the figures who shaped it
🌙 Guide us through practice strokes, slowly and with intention
🌙 Help you write the word Nafi (نافع), “beneficial”, with your own hand
No experience needed, just an open heart and a willingness to enjoy. Come as you are, leave with a depper connection to the art.
