🙌 “you should worry about toxic people claiming your safe product is toxic” love this 😁 Even though idk if I agree with experts with morals being rare. My experience is they are most of the times. But the ones that are here on social media or doing PR work oftentimes aren’t 🥲 especially the ones claiming to be experts but don’t have any real expertise

I was asked a lot from my opinion as a toxicologist regarding the recent Sudan red contamination of some PDRN cream by medicube, here is a full breakdown.
Let’s make a myth in skincare. Take an element of truth(in this case unverified statement). Make it simple. Make it a metaphor. Believe that the metaphor is a mechanism. Put a warning on it. Strip away all nuances. Repeat it until it sounds like an established skincare fact. This is because misinformation does not have to be totally fabricated. It has to have enough truth in it for it to sound right, but it cannot have enough information left to make it true. Hyaluronic acid can bond with and bind to water molecules. This does not mean that it will remove water from your skin when used on dry skin and dehydrate you. An important thing to ask yourself anytime you hear a skincare fact: What was scientifically proven, and what was added by repetition?
The sunscreen paradox as term is not new, it was something that started to crystallise as a term in the 90s but recent data analysed that term further to understand it better.
