Ralph Lauren has been named American Menswear Designer of the Year at the 2026 CFDA Fashion Awards, held November 2 at New York City’s American Museum of Natural History. The 87 year old fashion icon received the award from Matt Damon and Tremaine Emory, beating fellow nominees Thom Browne, Todd Snyder, Willy Chavarria, and Public School’s Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne.
The recognition marks Lauren’s third win in the menswear category, following victories in 1996 and 2007. Having also won American Womenswear Designer of the Year in 2025, the Polo Ralph Lauren founder continues to cement his legacy as one of the most influential figures in American fashion, nearly six decades after launching his brand in 1967.
