What is ModA?
Modern Anthropology Studios (ModA) is a new cultural institution building the infrastructure for the next generation of independent artists. Through exhibitions, artist panels, creative workshops and presentations open to the public, ModA focuses on the interdisciplinary, experimental projects of young, emerging talent from diverse identity and geographic backgrounds.
As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, we champion the exploration of unique narratives in the context of non-traditional, non-Western, non-mainstream cultural backgrounds and create accessible spaces for communities to engage with these stories.
ModA's vision includes building a global artist network supporting independent creatives, international artist exchange programs, foundational infrastructure for education support and community building in DTLA and urban Manhattan, and preservation of global narratives.
Join us at our Inaugural Charity Gala on November 14th to hear more about what we’ve been working on, and help us celebrate the independent artists and creative communities at the heart of ModA’s work while raising critical support for the next chapter of our artist ecosystem.
