An LSU student says she feels the university failed her after she reported being sexually assaulted by an LSU football player in October 2025. ————————— Kendall Francis, a first-generation college student, said she went to an LSU dorm in October 2025 to visit a football player she had met through social media. Francis alleges that she was sexually assaulted during the visit. The football player accused in the incident has not been publicly identified. ————————— Francis said she returned to her apartment afterward and was in shock. According to Francis, LSU Police came to her apartment, took her to a hospital and she spent about seven hours there. In January 2026, Francis filed a formal Title IX complaint with LSU. During the university’s investigation, Francis and the student-athlete provided conflicting accounts of what happened that night, including whether Francis consented to sexual activity. ————————— The case has since moved beyond the university’s internal process. The East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney’s Office has opened a criminal investigation into the allegations. “We understand that the matter was previously addressed through a campus-level investigatory and review process and that the LSU Police Department and the Baton Rouge Police Department have information concerning the matter,” District Attorney Hillar Moore said. ————————— The criminal investigation remains ongoing. No criminal charges against the football player have been announced. Thoughts?
