Sisters by choice and by chance 💕
#newmemberspotlights with our girls @maeveholsten @brookeholsten 🤍🤍

“We chose Pi Beta Phi because from the beginning, it felt like a place where we could truly be ourselves. Going through recruitment together as twins was such a special experience, but we both wanted to find a sisterhood that felt right for each of us individually. Pi Phi stood out because of how genuine, welcoming, and fun everyone was, and we could immediately picture ourselves being a part of it. Being away from home for the first time made finding a strong group of girls even more important to us, and Pi Phi has already given us that sense of home and belonging. We feel so lucky that we not only get to experience college together, but also get to share this sisterhood. We are so excited for all the friendships, memories, and experiences ahead with Pi Phi! “🩵🪽

Research on trained lifters shows that women eating at maintenance saw similar gains in muscle thickness as those in a surplus - the surplus group just gained more fat.

Here’s why maintenance works… muscle building is a signalling dependent process, not just an energy dependent one. That means you need high intensity training and adequate protein - not excessive calories - to trigger growth. Eat at the upper end of your maintenance range, follow progressive overload, and hit your protein targets (0.7-1g per lb of current body weight) and your body has everything it needs.

The reason? Your TDEE already accounts for muscle building. When you calculate maintenance calories, the energy cost of muscle protein synthesis and tissue repair is already baked in. You’re not missing calories - you’re right where you need to be.

LEFT - eating at the top of my maintenance range
RIGHT - eating at bottom of my maintenance range

🚨 DID YOU CATCH THAT?

Maintenance calories is a RANGE, not one specific number. I break this down for you inside the 6-week challenge….
