Have you ever thought about how wild it is to call your wife “the ball and chain”? 👀 Oh my God, guys, I’ve been working on this for SO long, and I’m so excited, and a little bit nervous, to finally let my first ever online series out into the world! 🥹❤️ It’s called Weaponised Words, and I basically want to unpick how much of what we’re taught about being women lives in our language, in jokes, nicknames and phrases we hear so often that we barely even question them. I know I’ve used plenty myself, until you stop and think about what you’re actually saying and you’re like… what the hell?! I thought “the ball and chain” was a perfect place to start, because it’s sometimes even presented as an affectionate nickname for a wife. But calling women the thing restricting a man’s freedom feels like total patriarchal gaslighting when we’re so often the ones giving up our time, income and independence to keep family life running. Marriage is sold to us as something women are desperate for and men have to endure, but how much of her “restricting his freedom” is actually just asking him to share the responsibility? 🫠 I do touch on language in my number one Sunday Times bestselling book, BIMBO (always have to get that in there 😂), and with the paperback coming out in January, it felt like a lovely time to explore it further. But beyond the book, and beyond publication week, I really want us to keep challenging and questioning the language we use, because it shapes what our daughters AND our sons grow up accepting as normal. I’ve absolutely loved doing the research, and each episode has taken me ages, so I’d really love to know whether you enjoy them, and whether they make you think differently about things we’ve all grown up hearing. Thank you so much for supporting me, I can’t wait to hear what you think. ❤️ What word or phrase would you like me to explore next?
𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗬 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 • Proud to welcome @l_huismann to the family for his worldwide bookings. - With releases on Monnom Black, Mutual Rytm, he continues to develop an approach that bridges classic techno influences with a contemporary sound. Berlin techno driven by a drummer's instinct: tight rhythm, dub weight and pressure that builds. Lars is built for peak time. He plays fast, rolling and hypnotic techno. His sets are about momentum. They build patiently and pull the crowd deeper with every track. Once the floor is locked in, he holds that energy and keeps the room moving right through the night. The foundation is old-school dub techno, pushed darker and harder in his own productions through tape, hardware and sampling. His home is now Dax J's Monnom Black. His debut "Mechanized" sold out and was repressed, and "System Collapse" (September 2026) was featured by DJ Mag, Mixmag and more. Having already shared several memorable nights together, we’re excited to take this next step and work more closely with him. - Discover his full profile on our website and contact etienne@rawagency.org for any booking inquiries.
Speaking of disgusting… 🤢 tonsil stone boy is back
