Trying to make a name for myself 🗡️ Easily my favorite thing I’ve made this summer. Set expectations high for myself, and there were a few things I’m not 100% satisfied with. Nonetheless, I think it’s a good indication of my ability as a scrimshander and gives me one hell of a jumping off point as an artist. More to come, onward and upward. #scrimshaw #art by @p_keane_forgeandtool
First attempt at mokume gane from quarters. Too much fun not to try again. What designs would you want to see next? #jewelry #fyp by @p_keane_forgeandtool
New Kraken design🦑 Pkeaneforgeandtool had to take a back seat finishing up year one of college, but now I’ve returned with the inconsistent posting schedule you all know and love. More to come #scrimshaw #apprentice #art by @p_keane_forgeandtool
The story ⤵️⤵️ Rough and roughly $60 in the corner of an antique shop. That’s how I found this tooth. When I saw it, I saw it as a canvas, and as a test of skill. This is the culmination of all my scrimshaw experience into one cohesive project. Well over 50 hours of sanding, planning, engraving, inking, retouching, and polishing. It’s not perfect, but I sure am happy with it, and it is a good demonstration of my ability at the moment. Some favorites from the summer (and by favorites I mean the only ones I remembered to take pictures of) Plus a little sneak peek of my next project on the last slide. Love y’all, talk soon! -pk by @p_keane_forgeandtool
“I am not an abstraction!” Says the man made of shapes. Why did I carve this? Who knows? Where did I get the reference? In my head! What does it mean? It’s your best guess. Walnut, hand carved without power tools. My anatomy is getting better, I hope. Last post before college! #art #uniqueart #woodcarving #woodworking #fyp #noaihere by @p_keane_forgeandtool
Yeah yeah I know I’m late to this… In all seriousness: Thank you all for supporting pkeaneforgeandtool. It has been wonderful sharing folk arts with the world. Thank you to @newportscrimshanders for providing incredible opportunities for a humble apprentice. And thank you to my family, who put up with my insane hobbies and encouraged me every step. Here’s to creating, to originality, to not taking life too seriously. Onward to @universityofvermont !!! #scrimshaw #apprentice #art #unique @uvm2029co #uniqueart by @p_keane_forgeandtool

It’s been a while folks… School has been a bit much, especially with applying to colleges. I’ve had to lock in for the last few weeks. But I’ve still been creating, so there’s a backlog of stuff just waiting to be posted. Happy holidays, and be ready for a big start to 2025 from Pkeaneforgeandtool! #scrimshaw #apprentice #art #unique #uniqueart #scrimshawivory #beautiful #fyp #youngartist by @p_keane_forgeandtool
My editing has gotten better…and so has my scrimshaw. Apparently I do guitar picks now! As always, dm me for custom orders, or stop by @newportscrimshanders on a Saturday afternoon to say hi! #scrimshaw #apprentice #art #unique #uniqueart #fyp #youngartist #beautiful #scrimshawivory by @p_keane_forgeandtool
Is line shading where it’s at? Possibly, if I do not crash out in the process. But the sweet sweet detail makes it all worth it. #scrimshaw #apprentice #art #unique #uniqueart #fyp #youngartist #scrimshander #beautiful by @p_keane_forgeandtool
