Loving this ride so much. I want to consume it faster, and I don't ever want it to end. Squeezing in pages wherever I can, even at the playground.

I took a Pirate history class is college and love that I knew a small bit about Grace O'Malley. Diving in is just such a welcomed experience.

I know there is conflict on how the story line was written. I'm reading as the author intended and it feels transcendent.

Is it a crazy hype book right now? mmhhmm, and I may see why.

Monday is Monday-ing round these parts. I decided that perhaps I should use the cook books I have and make meal options this week so we can have a plan in place.

September and October are the BUSIEST months in this house. The nicer weather, the incoming holiday seasons, the many birthdays....it's a lot.

Here's hoping this couple of hours of prep and many dishes can help us stay a little better fed this week.

CooknOnce Eat All Week is a gluten free meal planning recipe system where you are given a main and two other ingredients for each week. (We aren't gluten free and often will sub in items we prefer over the given options)

You will make three different recipes with the three items in a variety of ways. One day you set aside to do the bulk of the prep and cooking. Then on the day you use the recipe you only have to assemble/cook a few things before you get to dig in.

This week's recipes were to use Chicken Breast, Tomatoes, and Rice. I prepped a Chicken Parm Bake, a Cajun Skillet, and a Mexican Rice dish.

Here's hoping it goes over well. by @pages.for.sanity

Finally giving in and giving this story a try.

I thought I would get better reading done outside of my house. However, the people watching is winning out at @panerabread .

Here's to trying to focus and reading. by @pages.for.sanity

Today brings many emotions for many. I won't add to the cacophony too much. I would just like to add that of the three books here my favorite is "The Day the World Came to Town." It's a beautiful story of help, hope, and compassion.

We could use some of that right now. Look for the helpers. Become a helper. It can be healing for many.

I spent this past Labor Day weekend couch rotting while I devoured this beast.

651 pages later and I let out a contented sigh. This was a rounded out full story that I was utterly enthralled by.

Many thanks to the author for giving us a standalone and not making us wait for more in a series.

What a goddess!

What about you: series lover or series hater?

Buying books and reading books are two different hobbies and I will stand on this hill forever!

Luckily I have read the majority of these. Do you see any of your favorites here? by @pages.for.sanity

This is often my view these days. Having reader kids is THE BEST! Them leaving their books all over, while using tissues as bookmarks, is a frequent occurrence. I only get salty when they leave them on the kitchen counter by the sink. A catastrophe is bound to happen then.

What are some of your boundaries on book treatment from family members?

Also, this book, Kay's Anatomy by @amateuradam , is always in someone's hands round here. It's a treasure trove of goodness. by @pages.for.sanity

It's an Audre Lorde kind of summer. by @pages.for.sanity

Hopefully no one gets in trouble at our local B&N but my teens are SO EXCITED to have this one in their hands a week early!

They've already consumed it fully and are reading it again.

Thanks @rebeccaisreading._ for the heads up! 😉 by @pages.for.sanity

It's a good day/week/month to buy books written by bell hooks from indie bookstores!

I got these two at E Shaver in Savannah recently and while they didn't have the last one in the trilogy you best believe I will be getting it soon! by @pages.for.sanity

K.A Tucker gave this birthday girl, and all of us really, the best gift today.....a new release!!!

North Country is out today and it's so good. A second chance forbidden romance about making every minute truly count set on a bison farm in rural Canada.

True Tucker fashion we get an emotional ride that batters us a bit but stitches us up in the best way.

I read this in almost one sitting last week when it hit my Kindle, yay for being an early reader for the author, and then thanks to @librofm I listened to an advanced listener copy!

And now you can too!!! Quick, go grab a copy somewhere, anywhere.

Synopsis:

Emery McAllister once dreamed of leaving Cold River with the boy next door, but one devastating night destroyed their future and left her heart carefully guarded. Twenty years later, she’s built a life of control: running the town’s police detachment, raising her daughter, and keeping a fragile peace with her ex-husband, the mayor.
She’s certain she has moved on until the day she has dreaded—and secretly hoped for—finally arrives.
Logan Landry is home.

After two decades behind bars for being in the wrong place at the wrong time—and the choices that haunted him ever since—Logan returns to his family’s bison ranch carrying the weight of everything he lost, but especially Emery. Friendship is all he dares hope for now, but seeing her ignites a fire he thought long extinguished.
When a teenage girl disappears and old wounds reopen, Logan becomes Cold River’s favorite suspect, despite his airtight alibi. As distrust closes in, Emery must choose between the life she’s built … and the love she can’t let go. by @pages.for.sanity
