Curating events and gatherings to keep our heritage alive and introduce Brussels to our resistance through arts and Palestinian culture.

POSTS STORIES REELS

We keep reminiscing about Sunday.

Thank you for a heartwarming day of collective creative expression, we’re looking forward to exhibit the collages sometime next month.

We’re grateful to have worked together as organisations both aiming to create a place where people could meet inside the context of the world we live in today.

Thanks to the photographers, artists, @firestationbxl for the treats and drinks, volunteers and everyone who came to share with us.

To everyone who joined us on October 13th - thank you. This past year has been incredibly challenging, with relentless violence and ongoing struggles that have left us all feeling helpless. Yet, in our shared grief and collective strength, we came together to honor the martyrs, grieve the losses and support the ongoing fight for justice and freedom.

A special thank you to the artists, speakers, and everyone who contributed to making this event a powerful reminder of our commitment to amplify Palestinian voices. Your involvement in the art exhibition, collective embroidery, and creative expression tables was truly inspiring, highlighting the unyielding spirit of those we stand in solidarity with.

To those who shared their art, stories, and experiences—like young Ali from Gaza, who reminded us of the light we can carry into the world—thank you for your courage. Art continues to be a powerful medium for connection and resistance.

With love and solidarity,

PoP

Some shots from our first event October 14th. Thank you for coming together in a difficult time to honour Palestinian culture. We are moved to see how powerful standing together to share all this is. Art, food, music, poetry, it’s part of our resistance.

Thank you ❤️ To the artists, dancers, speakers, volunteers, photographers and everyone who contributed to this heartwarming event. Shokran @globearoma for hosting us.

Reflecting on the inspiring, touching conversation we had with our friend Hani Mortaja, a Palestinian photographer from Gaza. We were honored to have Hani share his perspective on life in Gaza, the current situation through his lens and his exhibited photographs, portraying the dual realities of Gaza: its heartache and its hope.

Some key points summarised by Hani:

“In the heart of every image I capture lies a story that yearns to be told, a voice that demands to be heard. Many of the places and moments I’ve immortalized no longer exist, erased by the ravages of the genocide. I urge you, the world, to not only view these photographs as mere images but as portals into the lives of Palestinians who endure far from the cameras’ flash.

I ask you to bear witness, to remember, and to act. Stand in solidarity with the people of Gaza by seeking out the truth, shouting “This must stop”, advocating for liberation, and supporting humanitarian efforts. Your awareness is the first step towards change.”

Community 💛 POETIK RIOTS * Open Mic: Words of revolt

📍Welcome to the third Open Mic of @poetik_riots hosted by Globe Aroma to share words of 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐭, resilience, resistance, grief, anger, fear, sadness...

➿19.04.2024 - 6:30pm at Globe Aroma

𝐏𝐨𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐤 𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐬 is a caring, angry, rebellious, feminist, anti-colonial collective.
We put words to realities shaped by injustices of a past that needs facing and futures seeded in radical imagination. Words were silenced admist the colonial violence of a live-streamed genocide lasting 6 months. Our bleeding hearts need the power of poetry to share, to express, to heal.

Together with 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞 @gazapassages we invite allies of Palestine and struggles against colonialism to share, hear and speak about Palestinians.

👉 The stage is reserved for womxn, with priority to POC.
👉 The space is open to all allies of Palestine and struggles against colonialism
(and other whitesupremacistcisheteronormativeimperialistcapitalistclassistpatriarchal shittiness).

Like the Congo, like Sudan, decolonize Palestine.
Permanent ceasefire now now now now now now now.
End the occupation. Free Palestine.
