In this episode of Voices of Madeira, we spoke with andrepcmgoes Sales and Marketing Executive at @palheirogolf

Through his work, André meets golfers from many different countries. We asked what they tell him about Madeira, what makes playing golf here distinctive, and what someone new to the island should know before playing at Palheiro Golf.

For those considering a move to Madeira, his perspective offers a closer look at one of the ways to spend time outdoors and meet people on the island.

EN - It is with mixed emotions that we bid farewell to these magnificent stone pines at Palheiro Golf. Unfortunately, they had to be felled for safety reasons. However, we wanted to honour their history and give them a new life.

We repurposed the wood to create these rustic benches, which now beautify and serve players out on the course. A sustainable way to keep the essence of our nature alive. 🌲♻️⛳️

📸 Check out the process, from cutting to the final result, in the photos!

The Madeira Edit · Volume 1 · Edition 4
The Golf Series — Palheiro Golf

A round above the Atlantic.

Set high above Funchal, Palheiro Golf is one of those places where the setting becomes as memorable as the game itself.

An 18-hole championship course shaped by Madeira’s natural terrain — dramatic elevation changes, mature woodland, strategic fairways and extraordinary views over the Atlantic.

And when the round is over, Vista Balancal offers perhaps one of the island’s most impressive settings for the 19th hole.

This edition also marks the beginning of a new chapter of The Madeira Edit: a series dedicated to discovering Madeira’s golf courses, one course at a time.

Because understanding Madeira is about more than property. It’s about understanding the lifestyle that surrounds it.
