📚🎭 BIG WORDS. BIG CREATIVITY. BIG FUN!

Only at PS 124! 🐼❤️ Our annual school-wide Vocabulary Parade brought words to LIFE!

Parents lined the hallways and packed the gym to cheer on our little wordsmiths as they showed off their clever, creative, and downright hilarious costumes! 🤩

And our teachers and staff? They understood the assignment! 💯 From witty wordplay to laugh-out-loud interpretations, the creativity was off the charts!

Who says learning vocabulary can’t be a whole lot of FUN?! 📖✨

2026 Vocabulary Parade was a huge success! Each and every student selected a vocabulary word and worked their creative juices to create a representation for the parade! Huge thanks to all the families who came in to cheer, the volunteers who were parade wardens, and our out of classroom staff who made everything run behind the scenes. Teachers- thank you for helping the kids select, represent, and learn new words. Your hard work each day ensures that 124 students are the smartest! by @panda124pta

Three years ago, PS 124 welcomed @mocanyc to launch a unique Yung Wing residency for our 4th graders. Our school’s namesake, Yung Wing, was the first person of Chinese descent to attend and graduate from an American university, @yale. Last night, on behalf of the PS 124 community, two of our fifth graders, Natalie and Leonardo, shared the impact of this residency on their understanding and appreciation for not only Yung Wing, but the history and legacy of Asian Americans in the United States. On the same night, we celebrated @baayork, who received the Champion Award for her commitment to service and the arts. Thank you for keeping the door open for our students. Our work with the @nationalasianartistsproject has had a profound impact on our students’ confidence and voice. Seeing the students address a room of hundreds was humbling and a reminder that it takes a village to raise the next generation of leaders. Thank you, @mocanyc and @baayork for your commitment and partnership, and kudos to Natalie and Leo for representing the best of PS 124! by @panda124pta

🗽🐼 BOO YORK CITY was a spooktacular hit — and so vibrant!

Thank you to our PS124 families, volunteers, and staff who filled our school with energy for our Halloween Bash.

Look at this crowd: volunteers setting up and checking families in, kids in costume at Haunted Gracie Mansion, making DIY Dumpling Squishies and Sewer Slime, crafting, spinning cotton candy, parading on stage, playing the giant-pants game and duck pond, and so many friends and families having fun together.

That's what makes PS124 so special — our pandas, together. Thank you for making it happen! 💛
