A big congratulations to the whole team at Paper Picture Productions ✨️🫶💓🙌 We did it!! by @paperpictureproductions

It has been our honor creating for Ottawa. We thank everyone involved at the Ottawa Awards for the recognition. We owe everything to our artists, without them, there would be no shows. And a glorious thank you to our audiences - you are the reason why we create.

Beauty was never harmless.

Some gardens bloom.
Some gardens feed.

Now in pre-production.

THE CURSE HAS A NAME.

Seven coins. Seven seas. One task from which even death offers no escape.
This is not a tale of pirates searching for treasure.
It is the tale of what the sea demands in return.

“Fail the sailors doomed of doomed tasks,
and you shall be prisoners of souls and masts.”

GREY GHOST
A new play by Arya Landers.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ FOUR REVIEWS. FOUR FIVE-STAR RESPONSES.

We genuinely couldn’t have imagined a response like this.

PUNCH ME THEN has received another ★★★★★ review, this time from @curtaincallcritiques

“Punch Me Then is the kind of theatre that does not simply ask difficult questions — it refuses to let us look away from them.”

And perhaps the line that means the most:

“Urgent theatre with something meaningful to say — and the courage to say it.”

This little show arrived at Camden Fringe wanting to start a conversation.

About misogyny.
About consent.
About what young people are learning.
About the people trying to teach them.
About what happens when personal trauma walks into the classroom with you.

To see audiences and critics respond so strongly to Nicole Abraham’s writing and performance has been extraordinary.

Thank you to Curtain Call Critiques for taking the work seriously, engaging with what it is trying to say, and awarding us ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.

And to every person who helped put PUNCH ME THEN on its feet, this belongs to all of you.

The Camden Fringe run may be over.

The conversation isn’t.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ANOTHER FIVE STARS.

We’re still taking this in.

PUNCH ME THEN has received another 5-star review — this time from The New Current.

«“PUNCH ME THEN is a powerful, important piece that asks us to listen, understand, and confront the misogynistic hold that still defines our world.”»

This is exactly why this play was made.

Not to offer an easy answer. Not to tell audiences what to think. But to put difficult questions about misogyny, consent, power, education and the experiences of women into a room — and ask people to actually sit with them.

To see Nicole Abraham’s writing and performance being met with this response is incredibly special.

And huge recognition must go to director Toby Clarke, whose staging brings us directly into Lila’s classroom and refuses to let us remain comfortable observers.

Thank you to The New Current for engaging with the work so deeply — and to every person who came into that classroom with us at Camden Fringe.

Three reviews.
Another ★★★★★.
And a conversation we very much intend to continue.
