We've gotten some new followers, so allow us to reintroduce ourselves!

The Pararescue Foundation is a #501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to exclusively support #USAF Pararescue and Combat Rescue Officer service members, veterans and their families.

#Pararescuemen (PJs) and their #CombatRescueOfficer (CRO) leaders are the only U.S. force specifically trained and equipped to execute the most dangerous and technical rescue operations worldwide.

Regardless of enemy threat or environmental conditions, these elite warriors stand ready to find isolated and injured people, render expert medical care, and return them safely.

Such selfless service takes a toll on military families. These warriors operate at a convergence of roles known to be high-risk for Post-Traumatic Stress: #groundcombat, #traumamedicine, and the recovery of human remains.

Also, the physical burden of carrying patients, rescue equipment, and combat loads through parachute insertions, armed conflict, open ocean swims, glacier travel and mountainous terrain routinely results in chronic physical and neurological damage.

The Pararescue Foundation (PJF) executes our mission guided by three goals:

❤️ Provide tragedy, transition, and education assistance
🇺🇸 Honor the commitment and sacrifice of those who live by the motto: "That Others May Live"

For PJs and CROs transitioning out of service, the next chapter isn't just about finding a job.

It's about figuring out how the skills, experiences, leadership, and identity you've built through service translate into what's next.

The Pararescue Foundation's Transition and Education Support program helps service members and families navigate that process — from career opportunities and education to retirement and VA disability resources.

November is National Veterans and Military Families Month.

At the Pararescue Foundation, we know service doesn't happen in isolation.

Behind every PJ or CRO is a family navigating deployments, uncertainty, reintegration, and all the moments in between.

That's why family support is part of our mission.

In 2 weeks, we'll welcome a new group of operators and spouses to our Family…Mission Possible Retreat in Gettysburg, PA — creating space to reconnect, strengthen communication, and build resilience together.

This month, we're celebrating the people who serve, the people who stand beside them, and the community that supports both.

Today we remember TSgt Sean Barton, a PJ assigned to the 320th Special Tactics Squadron, who died on Oct. 30, 2014 from injuries sustained after a rappelling training incident during a joint exercise training event near Kathmandu, Nepal. by @pararescue.foundation

Today we remember TSgt Rick Smith.

TSgt Arden "Rick" Smith, a PJ with the 106th Rescue Wing, NYANG, died in the course of a rescue mission during the 1991 Halloween Nor’easter, or “Perfect Storm.”

Today, we recognize the PJs and CROs who are currently deployed and serving around the world.

Their missions don't only happen in combat environments. Pararescue personnel also respond to humanitarian missions — domestically and around the globe — when people need help most.

And behind every deployment is a family carrying their own share of the weight.

When a PJ or CRO deploys, trains, responds, or heads out on another mission, someone is often holding down the home front.

A spouse navigating another deployment.

A family adjusting to another move.

A partner carrying the worry that comes with a high-risk career.

These sacrifices may happen quietly, but they are an important part of the Pararescue story.

That's why the Pararescue Foundation doesn't just support the person wearing the uniform.

We support the people standing behind them, too.

Through resiliency events and other resources, PJF creates opportunities for spouses and families to connect with others who understand their unique experience.
