๐Ÿ“Mt Kilimanjaro Summit @ 19,341ft (5,895m) All of my self doubts and fears about my physical, mental, and spiritual fortitude dissolved over the last 7 days trekking solo with my incredible Zara Crew to Uhuru Peak, the tallest mountain in Africa. ๐Ÿ”๏ธ I kept this journey close to the vest and completely unplugged from the world (except a satellite communicator for emergencies and to keep a few of my favorite humans updated that I was alive and inching my way along). This whole experience was remarkable from start to finish. I felt every emotion on the spectrum and some new ones too. I discovered a whole new level of ultra beast mode deep within me. This experience has shown me that I am strong, I am beautiful, I am confident in who I am, I can handle extreme discomfort with grace, and I can do very hard things! I just got off the mountain late last night and everything aches with friendly reminders of this memorable adventure. I have several wonderful humans to thank for helping me go from a crazy dream to reaching the Kili summit and I will do so soon (you know who you are ๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿผ). Butterfly Wings are courtesy of my lovely friend Misti, who gave them to me at our high school reunion earlier this year. I had them in my van for 5 months waiting for a moment that would do them justice. This was it! ๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ—ป๐Ÿฆ‹ I fly to Kenya tomorrow to start the animal safari portion of my Africa adventure but will definitely be sharing lots more Kilimanjaro shares. It was epic and everything I'd hoped it would be and so much more! Iโ€™ve Found My Purpose โ˜ฏ๏ธโค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ™Œ My Path4Me journey has given me so many unforeseen gifts. It's provided space for my authentic self to emerge along with my current lifeโ€™s purpose. My purpose is to simply live a life of balance both spiritually and physically. Being in balance for me translates into feelings of peace, joy, and harmony within my soul/physical being. Being in balance means prioritizing my sleep, nutrition, and movement. Being in balance means protecting my energy and being mindful with who, how, and where I share my energy. Being in balance means continuing to live in the flow with a childlike wonder and embracing curiosity, creativity, and new ways of thinking. Being in balance means being ME and honoring my authentic expression. I know it will be challenging to remain in harmony at all times, especially when I reintroduce career, romantic relationships, and other lifeโ€™s stressors. I have a good feeling that this will be the most meaningful and worthwhile investment of my time and energy to date and hope to someday help others who would like my help finding their balance as well. And with that, Iโ€™m logging off now to get some quality sleep. Goodnight Framily, thank you for reading and sharing in my journey. ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ™ . . Wheels up, for real this time! โœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿงณ๐ŸŒŽ After two weeks of fun at home, and an extra 2 days thanks to flight delays, Iโ€™m finally on my way back to New York. Aurora has been waiting patiently for me, and the road is calling. Time to get back out there! ๐Ÿš๐Ÿ’จโœจ by @path4me
๐Ÿ“Forest Giants | Bernheim Forest KY Woke up at the crack of dawn to hang out with giants today! I might have been slightly too ambitious as I ended up sitting in Aurora for 45 minutes just waiting for the sun to come up so I could actually see the trail. But the wind, the drizzle, and having the woods entirely to myself made meeting Mama Loumari, Little Nis, and Little Elina feel like stepping straight into a fairytale. Started out with an empty parking lot, and by the time I made it back, the crowds had arrived! Browsed the gift shop and snagged a few keepsakes to remember this leg of the journey. Did I really need a new purse shaped like a mushroom? Absolutely not! But was it totally worth it? Hell yes! ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿ‘œ Huge shoutout to Atlas Obscura for putting this Kentucky treasure on my radar. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ”ฅโœจ Onward! ๐Ÿš๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธ๐Ÿงญ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ . . . . #forestgiants #wanderlust #vanlife #path4me #sayyestoyourself by @path4me
White knuckling it tonight during a storm crossing into Kentucky! โ›ˆ๏ธโšก๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ I don't know how my truck driver friends drive in these conditions. I was terrified! ๐Ÿš› Before I drove into the storm, I saw lightning on the horizon and asked Google if there was any extreme weather ahead and it said no. Maybe I need to define what extreme weather means to a California girl who doesn't experience this volume of water coming out of the sky ๐Ÿคฃ Goodnight friends. ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ˜˜ Onward tomorrow...๐Ÿš๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธ by @path4me
I want to give a shout out to Cracker Barrel once again for providing me a safe place to sleep and a gift shop that overstimulates me in the best possible way every time I walk in! ๐Ÿ“Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah ๐Ÿš๐Ÿ’จโœจ Watching the first light wash over the glowing white expanse of the Bonneville Salt Flats is a moment that is going to stay with me for a very long time. Aurora and I bravely went out on the flats for a quick spin. Aurora kept her dignity intact and stayed well within "responsible camper van" speeds. No sonic booms today, just cruising across an endless sea of white, taking in the views, and pretending we were in a rec van adventure commercial. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿš๐ŸŽฌ๐Ÿ“ฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ† Up close, the ground is an absolute natural art gallery. I was really impressed with the various geometric shapes the salt was forming out there. Some patches locked together like crisp, giant honeycomb tiles, while others tangled up looking like wild, messy stringy hair, and nearby patches clustered into curious little bumpy spheres. Mother Nature definitely showed off her quirky design skills on this crustโ€ฆ.seriously NEATO! ๐ŸŒโœจ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ Onwardโ€ฆ.๐Ÿš๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธโ›ฝ๐Ÿงญโœจ๐Ÿ”ฅ by @path4me

๐Ÿ“Lunch ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ & Bugs ๐Ÿชฒ | Amarillo TX I spent the night in Amarillo and when it came to finding a memorable lunch the next day, I knew better than to trust the big billboards pointing me towards The Big Texan tourist trap; instead, I asked my AI assistantโ€ฆBest. Decision. Ever. ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ๐Ÿ” I ended up at Coyote Bluff Cafe, a tiny, 1,000-square-foot spot that was originally a dance hall. It wasn't just a meal; it felt like walking into someoneโ€™s home. My server, Heather, was an absolute rockstarโ€ฆshe made the whole experience so warm and welcoming. And the food? Super yum! Iโ€™ve never thought to put guacamole AND sour cream on a grilled chicken burger, but now? Iโ€™m converted. Throw in some perfectly crispy fried okra and homemade onion rings, and I was in food heaven. ๐Ÿฅฐ With a full belly and a happy heart, I pointed Aurora north toward Colorado, but had to make one quick pit stop first. Youโ€™ve probably heard of the iconic Cadillac Ranch (I stopped there in 2023!), but I couldnโ€™t miss the Slug Bug Ranch. Itโ€™s the less-crowded, quirky 2002 "parody" of the 1974 Cadillac version with five half-buried VW Beetles and vintage limos, all decked out in wild, spray-painted graffiti art. ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐ŸŽจ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ๐Ÿš— Itโ€™s these weird, wonderful, off-the-beaten-path moments that make road-tripping in a van so addictive. Yee-haw! ๐Ÿค  Finally experienced the Fort Worth Stockyard in Texas, and it lived up to the hype! I kicked things off watching the worldโ€™s only twice-daily cattle driveโ€ฆbasically just me, a few hundred new friends, some serious cowhands, and a herd of longhorns casually ignoring traffic laws as they strolled down the street. Those horns were legit! ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿ˜ณ Afterwards, a cowboy suggested the Legends of Texas old west comedy show in the Stockyard Station, but my tummy was grumbling so I abandoned the jokes after a few minutes to hunt for lunch. I randomly ducked into the White Elephant Saloon and it turns out, Iโ€™d stumbled into Fort Worthโ€™s oldest, most iconic watering hole, famous for the city's last major gunfight and its turn as "C.D.โ€™s Bar & Grill" in Walker, Texas Ranger (RIP Chuck Norries). I loved seeing all the hats on the ceiling, a hall-of-fame display, celebrating rodeo cowboys, musicians, and public servants who have left their mark on this historic venue. Oh, and those 2 honky tonk singers were hilarious and incredibly talented. Talk about a "shoot-from-the-hip" lunch choice! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ”ฅ When I learned there was a 1:30 PM rodeo at the Cowtown Coliseum across the street, I figured, "Why the hell not?" and booked a seat for one as close to the action and cowboys as I could. ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿค ๐Ÿ’™โœจ What a fun, memorable, spontaneous day. If youโ€™re ever in Texas, you must hit up the Stockyards! Onward...๐Ÿš๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธ . . . #fortworthstockyards #whiteelephantsaloon #wanderlust #path4me #adventure by @path4me
